"Ei perwar/embargo smooth plate 12AU7s. New old stock from a 100 lot I purchased from a major amp/preamp manufacturer that no longer uses 12AU7s. Made with Telefunken tooling, these tubes are great. Sound much like Telefunken smooth plates; this is a very open and extended tube. I recently sold a pair of these to a client that far prefers this tube to RCA clear tops, RFTs and a number of U.S. made 12AU7s he has tried. High gain, lively tubes this is a superb matched pair of LINE stage grade tubes. PHONO grade matched pairs of this exact tube are available for $ 10.00 per pair more. At my asking price these tubes are a bargain. Critical that these tubes are from a production period prior to the problems in this area. No comparision to the later production Eis. Test results: 90/88 and 90/89 (Cardmatic), 3575/3500 and 3300/3400 (Hickok 539C...minimum 1950gm).
