OXO Wire
« on: 22 Apr 2007, 04:30 am »
I'm waiting for my RM 30s and from what I understand the OXO has wire coming out of it. Dumb question but how long are the wires. ie how far can my speakers be from the OXO. - Just trying to figure out some placement issues before they get here

The wire is about 2' long.  The oxo can only be about 6"  max from the speakers. A little inflexible, IMO.

Obviously, the shorter wires are designed for the purpose of keeping them short, and the OXO close to the speaker.

And of course it would difficult to know how far each user might find best, and any additional wire gets scruched or looped or worse.

However, you can use any length of your favorite speaker wire to place it whatever distance you need, by simply using any number of connection means, to add the length.

B, might have comments on what increasing lengths might do to the signal.  I would have to assume that there may be consequence to going too long.

If you need to make the wires longer I'd be sure to use thick wire say at least 14 gauge. That's just me though but the added resistence and reduced damping will have an effect on the amplifier. The thick wire will keep this issue to a minimum.

You can order the OXO leads longer if you need them.
