Why don't you just get some new from the source?

The EddieCurrent website seems to be under construction at the moment, but the information is available on mothmusuem.com:

EddieCurrent (Craig Uthus) at mothmuseum no longer has any of the Moth Cicada drivers available ... the web page remains up for reference purposes.

However, I've got a brand new pair sitting in the box they came in from Moth Audio a few years ago.  Never mounted, never used ... in fact, I don't think I've even taken one of them out of the packaging.  I keep saying I'm going to build the cabinets, but other things keep getting in the way.

How bad do you want them?   aa

I have six pr.  all used, all good.  some have the whizzer removed and are dammared, half are stock.

nice speaker on open baffle, which is how i use them.  i never did build the boxes for them.  i also have

jigs for the circle AND the irregular-shaped frame so you could easily recess the drivers into the baffle for

a flush-mount.

$100 a pr. + shipping a some kind of deposit for the plywood forms.

i prefer the sound of this driver to my fostex fe164

I thought about using these on an open baffle (much easier to build afterall), but I never figured out whether or not they'd be good for this based on the specs.  What size baffle are you using and did you try different sizes?  How's the bass response?  Have you ever heard them in the boxes ... I'm curious how they might compare.

Thanks!

these are great on an OB; however, they are very limited in power handling capabilities, which is why i would use two or four to a
(large) panel.

this driver had a lot of detail and little shout.  i have heard them in their moth boxes and liked the sound alot, although some
might think them boomy or indistinct in the bass because of the high qts.

why not use one per panel with an active xover to an alpha 15 as per martin king's design?

Thanks for the suggestion ... where can I get details on this design?
