Nothng in the archives or on the website. I don't doubt those who say it sounds great but wonder about cabling and amp matching.

I use my Candela with mono extreme SE's and i also use it with a Sonic Frontiers SFS 80 tube power amplifier. no problems whatsoever  :thumb: if i were you i would refer your concerns to Klaus Bunge and Alex G at Odyssey Audio and they can tell you exactly what you need to know

You are most likely referring to or someone had indicated to you to the incorrect output impedance published (typo error) in the first Odyssey Candela flyer that was presented originally at the 2005 RMAF.

The correct output impedance is 2k Ohms, with a input impedance grater than 100k Ohm.

Alex

I think the Candela is around 2K ohms actually per early spec sheets that an end user received.

My tube preamp is somewhere between 1K-2K ohms.
No problems with Mono Extremes which have a fairly low input impedance of 11K, or 18k depending on different reports.

I agree-talk with Klaus or Alex.
These guys are quite thorough in their knowledge base.

The Candela is enticing for other reasons than price but I was put off by the 10K thing.

I still recall the wonderful sound of Oddysey amp and Lorelei speakers at the second, and last, mid-West Audio Fest where I met Klaus.

I wonder if there will be a Candela at the Lone Star Audio Fest?
