Here it is Sunday Morning and I'm sitting here in front of my laptop listening to a GREATEST HITS CD I ripped yesterday of Rock Hits that I have a lot of history invested in.
I fired up my little Bryston (60wpc) into the RM40s and have been transported through to slices of the past with every cut.
Moody Blues, Led Zepplin, JethroTull, Emerson Lake and Palmer, King Crimson, Doors, Alan Parsons, Beatles, Santana, Beach Boys, CSNY, and Hendrix
From the opening Acoustic Guitar of "Stairway to Heaven", to the wailing and Crying electric Axe of "All Along the Watchtower" the beat and licks are incredible.
My surprise at the quality of sound of these ancient musical musings is evident in the toe tapping, head bopping and occasional "air drumming" or "air guitar" riffs that just seem too easy to give into.
The fact that each of these cuts has a significant memory attached to it only adds to its enjoyment.
It also reminds me just how much music adds to our lives everyday, and that many are not lucky enough to have the tools we have to translate those sonic interpretations into a virtual reproduction not only of the original performance, but an instant time machine to take us to those sepia toned snapshots in our mind. (no I havent been smoking anything

but it certainly provides a "natural high"

)
