I have a Asus a7n8x deluxe mainboard. And this really got better soundwise!!!
Driver ID: 4.57 (6.14.0457.0) - (just got it via windows update!)
IS USELESS!!! (the sound got better... but all my HD's went into oblivion!!!
Some 20hours++ to restore them... to limpmode and then some!!!

I just had to order new parts for 353$ because of the problems that ensued!!!

Yeah I have had problems with Asus and their poor nVidia driver availability on their support site  (see my topic on my Asus MB)

What hard drives do you have (Maxtor?)

I use Seagate series 7 and 8.
It's a 80gig ide and a 160gigs s-ata.
I'm going to re-install shortly now.
My systems drive is to be a Samsung spinpoint 400gigs.

I will also soon put this computer to the slaughters... and let it resurrect
as much better! Motherboard, ram, CPU and psu and cabinet is going to the great heap of molex...

The Imperial Cruiser will be my revenge! Hahaha!  :icon_twisted: Hehe!

As I wrote before, I doctored my XP install a bit to much. that was the problem...
Won't be doing that again!

As it turns out, I didnt have enough user profiles on my computer, so my root user went dead, sort of.
What a daft problem! (all hdd partitions became invisible and not possible to see... not very nifty that...)
