PMC contact re: problem with PMC driver?
« on: 13 Mar 2007, 12:15 pm »
Does anyone know how to contact PMC?
I have sent several e-mails to them, using the address on their web site, but received no answer?

Why does James always have to step up? It's tiring already. What the heck is customer service at both Bryston and PMC doing. I own 20,000 dollars worth of speakers from them and thankfully have not had problems yet but I fear when and if I do.....

Not to worry, just contact your distributer. I had some rare and silent ringing on the bass unit and it was replaced for no charge.
But if you want to chat with them online that's another problem, ask yourself do you even need to do so, just take your speakers to your local distributer and problem solved.

Canucks0, no worries, customer service is stellar, all has been taken care of.
I guess we are all impatient when it comes to our toys.
Enjoy your speakers.  :D

James Tanner....a diamond in the rough and reassuring voice to consumers like us who work like dogs to free up money to enjoy music presented accurately through world-class loudspeakers.

Canucks0,

Were you the one asking question on Audiogon about IB1 versa IB2?
What did you end up with?

I agree with Canucks0 -   PMC internet support / response in the US is dismal at best in my experience, and pretty different than Bryston.    Although it sounds like a solution has been worked out - bring it to the regional dealer - that may not always be convenient at all.  If you look at the US distribution map on the PMC website,  there are some pretty substantial areas of the US that are barely (if at all) covered by a regional rep.  Hence,  point of contact through email should be important, I would think.

And what about consumer sales?  I have written to several people at PMC (USA) to ask questions about AML-1s over the 12 months and gotten little to no response.  The most I got was, "Mr. so and so is going to follow up with you sometime this week,"  and then I never heard anything.   This was not the case when I wrote to PMC reps in the UK;  they wrote back the next day.

Although I too appreciate the efforts of Mr. Tanner,  it shouldn't have to come to that,  it should be a team effort by the people at PMC's US Division.   I shouldn't have to chase down reps or "figure out" how they operate to get information and potentially make a purchase.

Get with the program PMC.

I bought the IB1's as I felt the step up to the IB2's wouldn't be worth it given the increase in price. I have them on SoundAnchors stands at 17". Funny thing is, using just Canara's star quad cable at a buck a foot proved better than some of the 1000 USD and up speaker cables. I have an all McIntosh setup (new lines) and I have been content for some time now. Perhaps if I want to change things up a bit, I'll go for the new EB1's if they are priced reasonably close to the cost of my Ib1's and their stands. It would be great if PMC would redesign their very disorganized and ugly website and omit models not in production and new ones coming in. Anyhow....

I am having fun with my speaker cables I used with previous speakers, they do not work well with IB2 and they are not inexpensive.
This never ends.
