Brian, do you still offer RM40s in kits???
« on: 11 Mar 2007, 06:47 am »
Although I'm pretty sure your answer to this is "yes", I wanted to double-check.  Also, it seems like I remember you also used to offer your speaker components without the cabinets (for those brave souls who can do the woodworking themselves).  Is this still an option for potential VMPS customers?

Is there a price lists for either of these two purchases?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Yes Brian still offers kits on many models, and the pricing is about 15% off retail.

I'll look up the RM40 price (wo/cabinet) later to day and post it for you.

Hi Paul,

The "quiet" you hear, is the sound of your RM v60s being polished aa

But to really be more accurate, as some already know, Brian injured (broke) his toe a couple days before CES.  While that seemed to be a minor injury, the stress of being on his feet for a week for 12 hours a day, set up a "complication".

This has resulted in "many" subsequent surgical procedures, which all require some time in the hospital and then significant restriction on activity, especially standing and walking around.

And Brian, (the workaholic that he is) has been trying to "catch up" with all the orders that got backlogged before CES (as he rushed to get the RM v60 ready for the show)

This means instead of sitting with the injured foot "up" as directed by the physician, he is rushing around to make a dent in the mountain of work to be done.

This has slowed his recovery. :(

On top of this, he is on anti-biotics, and a couple types of pain relievers, which is also slowing.

So if you have ordered parts or speakers, (or have even posted to this board a Brian question) please be patient. :green:

He has given "full speaker orders" priority, and if you have parts ordered, please be patient, he will be getting to all those ASAP.

Whoa, B, slow down......  If the doctor says stay off the foot, please listen to him (or her), at least for a week or 2.  The last thing you need is for the toe to not heal properly and bother you for the rest of your life!

Ah Ha! So that's the issue.     It isn't the medication John, it's just an improper prescription and inadequate dosage.  :duh: I would think that about 1/4 liter good single malt Irish taken morning and evening would go a long way to raise his spirits and improve his mood.

Seriously Brian,  stay off your feet and get well soon. You are valuable to all of us. (please quit trying to kick John,  :nono:  and enjoy the Irish)

Paul

Good advice.  I'll do nothing for the next 3 weeks and see how the toe progresses.

Actually they took out the IV pick line for the antibiotics last Friday.  They said it was OK to walk around, but what do doctors know.  What I need is a coupla months of COMPLETE inactivity.

Just kidding.  We spent all day Friday polishing PL Monroe's rosewood 60's and assemble them today.  Then breakin and 2 days in my soundroom for tweaking.  On the truck end of the week!

Shipping rosewood 40's today. My, they look and sound nice.

Hi Kevin,

Fianlly pulled out the old price schedule and the RM40 is only available Assembelled and as a kit w/cabinet.

Assembled of course starts at $4599 plus options, and the KIT is $3910. (both plus shipping)

John,

Thanks for your help!!  Even though it's not the answer my friend was hoping for, I appreciate you taking the time to research that for me.
