This may or may not help anyone. I never heard the preamp, at least that I can remember. But the Acurus integrated (actually a power amp w/ passive input level controls & switching), sounding quite wonderful I thought.
Don't know about getting it serviced, seeing as I think Aragon the parent company is gone.
