As someone who like this great Jazz number but were born way after it times. I really appreciated to see this avielable for all to see :D Wish I could time travel and be there in the audience when it popularity was at it highest

Of cause the sound is bad but that's okay at least I get to see them in action.

Anyway, there are lots of MV clips on YouTube. :D

Now I wonder if I could put on my LP copy of "Take Five" and try to sync it with the clip :jester:

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

PS

I saw him and his band at the Carnegie Hall a few years ago but they didn't play "Take Five" :? Maybe they got tried of it

That's great! I saw Dave Brubeck and his band last season at the Kimmel Center in Philly. He was the second act after Marian McPartland. Marian played for about 45 minutes; Dave and his boys (these are the guys who have been with him for the last many years, most of them up there in years) played for about 90 minutes.  :banana piano: And they were on FIRE. It was as though they had all sold their souls to the devil so they could play like wild men. It was by far the best small group jazz concert I had ever seen (I've been lucky enough to have gone to about half a dozen jazz concerts a year for the last dozen or so years). By the time they were done with 'Take 5' (toward the end of the set) the audience was practically in a riot. Dave and the other musicians fed so beautifully off the audience, laughing, responding when the crowd gave them cheers. An almost perfect union of performers and fans. I swear I wish Kimmel had recorded that performance (sound and visuals). It would have made for a killer live disc. Tight, awesome sound by a team that was so much on top of their game. I have a dumb grin just thinking about it now.  :singing:

Hey!

Yup totally agreed. :D Dave could play like he was on the old clip.... amazing. :D

But somehow when I saw him and his band at the Carnegie Hall they didn't play "Take Five" Strange isn't it? :?

But overall I had a great time. Even though I haven't seen much live Jazz... but like you said Dave and his band was one of the most memorable for me. :D

Take care,
Buddy :thumb:

That is 'cool'! Can't believe I could have seen Joe Morello 10 miles from my parents house if I was in NJ a month ago...!

Way cool!
Thanks for the link Buddy!
I've heard that tune so many times on the radio, but to see the perfomance to go along with the music is great.
