I finally got them ! Yes I now own a pair of Voice of the Theaters. They are all I ever thought they would be. I love that big hugh sound.
I gonna do some tweaking on the cabinets, but not much else.
Check out my newest Gallery entry : http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?action=gallery;area=browse;album=972&pos=0

Anyone want a pair of Backloaded Horns with 5" Altec fullrangers and a Radio Shack Ribbon Tweeter.
My VOT's want more room, give me a call "Local Pickup only".

     Have fun !

did you have to rent a crane, widen any doorways or do construction to your house in any way?

Very, very cool!

Whenever I think something may not fly over here I'm just going to have to show her just how big and beautiful other speakers can be.

That's awesome that those speakers found a loving owner.   I wouldn't have had the room for them anyway and they look like they need a little extra TLC.

So do they sound similiar to the speakers at the Record Exchange?

The ones at the Record Exchange are Magnificants, not quite as big as the VOTs. A "Domesticated" VOT
so to speak. I'm sure they sound good, but I think real VOTs may hold an edge!

Scott: They also had 5 pairs of Black Industrial dress Klipsch Hereseys I really wanted to make a deal for them ( to GASser's that might want them). But by the time I got back home, the owner called to say they all had been sold after I left. Hereseies at around $60.00 a pair would not have been a bad deal.

Thanks again Matt for the post, it really worked out nice for me!
      Have fun!

hey guys,

Is the vintage gear at the Record Exchange a good deal?  do they look the gear over or test for funtion?

a friend lives just a few blocks from there, the 1st time i visited my nose was buried in LP's for 3 hrs...i walked out of there with the largest load of crappy sounding used LP's ever, but still was happy to experience such an establishment.  they literally stock 'everything'

A patron can't help but notice all the tube gear, reel-to-reels, speaks etc.   i'm tempted to spend $20 a decent looking Heathkit, but never asked when i was there if the gear works or not.

Overall though, a fantastic idea for all the aging Public Libraries around!   tongue-in-cheek of course...
