Hello,

I am a bit disgruntled with Odyssey at the moment.  (Dont get me wrong the equipment sounds killer :thumb:, this is not about the sound)  But I feel like I am not being heard by Odyssey and therefore my post here (I am a smaller customer, have spent around $2500 dollars with them, but am a customer none-the-less).

The quick story:

I purchased a " remote controllable " Etesian preamp about 1 year ago.  I received the unit, it sounded great.  To get the " remote controllable " unit, it was a fairly significant extra cost.

One problem:  the unit NEVER came with the actual remote control !!  I immediately called that day to ask where the remote was, and I was told they were out of stock at the moment and it would take a few weeks.  Since then, I have called odyssey probably about 15 times during the course of the year to give friendly reminders that I still need to be sent a remote.  When you pay a fairly significant extra amount to be able to change the volume remotely you would think that you would get a remote control with it!  As I cant send IR signals with my mind....(well not yet, I have been trying trust me) Ive also tried universal remotes but they do not work.

I have also private messaged and emailed with my contact information and situation, as well as leaving it with Odyssey via phone.  After promises that I would be sent a remote nearly every time I have called in the past year... I still have not been sent a remote!  Am I missing something here?  Am I supposed to buy a remote from a third party company or something?

Someone please help or at least give me a reason why I can't get a remote control for my "remote controllable" etesian preamp.

Thanks for any help,

Trevor

Huh, very un-Klaus like.

Keep calling, and call in the late afternoons.  The man works very late hours and if he is anything like me, if I go to bed at 3am I'm not getting up until around noon.

Sorry really not much help.  99.9% of the time Klaus is one of the kings of customer service.

Phone is the ONLY way to reach 'the man'
Call him again.
He will take care of you.

I understand that, but when I called Odyssey, I talked to him everytime.... Even asked once if he could jot my info down by hand because he asked me to send emails before with my info. and that did not work.

Is there any one else to contact? or is Klaus a one man company?

Thanks for the help Lady and Brad.

I can't imagine a month, let alone a year.  Unbelievable.

You deserve MUCH more than a remote.

Very true.
It was our mess here with some remote problems on the Etesians,  and some other issues,  but I believe that I made it up somewhat to Trevor.

BTW,  as for the remote options for the passive units as it stands now:

Etesian:  ok.
Cyclops:  not available,

Maybe it would be interesting to get a freeware remote control software for Treo or that kind of PDA´s or remotes, then copy the Odyssey remote code, then upload the file to a web server so people can get the remote control unit code, easier in an alternative way.

MAybe someone with plenty of time could graba Universal Remote or other brand and play the "find code" sequence until you get control of the unit, I have don it before but I had no successwith two remote control hand units.

Jeez - a little complaining gets you free stuff???  Klaus you #@#%%&**!!!  Damn those Colts!  (Actually my hat is off to Indy - played a great game.)  Back to topic - $#$^^^*)(&%^#@#@$$&^*^##@@!^^*&^(*$!!!!!  Thanks for putting those big freaking boxes in my system - space is precious don't you know???  Or didn't they teach you that in evil amp school???  I deserve and should receive more!  I hate your gear so much I listen to it all the time to remind myself why I am so freakin lucky to have a great system (actually two)!!!!!  If I could stand your gear a bit more I'd add a third system - NO - two are enough!!!  My Dynaudio C2s love your amps!!!  My wife laughs at your remote!!!  (That is true...)

Ok, I'm done.  I will try to tolerate any free stuff you feel inclined to send.
