need help with POP noise
« on: 2 Feb 2007, 03:22 am »
:cry:I need help from ARC and Bryston owners. Just bougt the ARC SP16l and the Bryston 4BSST. My source is Rotel CDP 1072, all cables are Hero, speakers from Paradigm 40.2. Right after the exited over, I notice there is a POP noise when MUTE/ UP/DOWN functions activated. ARC referred me to Bryston for possible input issue. Bryston insisted on the DC leaking issue with ARC SP16L, not the 4 BSST. I have done all the a/b switching from different CDPs/ speakers/cables and even bought a new HTS3600 MKII but the POP still being there. I took the SP16l to the dealer, I could hear a small audible POP from his speakers, not quite loud as it is in my house. The young man who tested my pre-amp seems not concern with the small POP from his speakers. So they declare no problem with the pre-amp. AT home, I use the pre-amp out from my Krell 400xi connected to the 4BSST, when MUTE there was a POP at speakers but no POP when I turned the volume knob up and down. I am stressed out in a fear of my new pre and amp will eventually damage themself due to the DC leaking from the pre-amp or the amp input stage will eventually get into more serious problem. Anyone using ARC and Bryston ever has this kimd of problem ? I need your help. Thank you.
