Hello,

I purchased a Bryston SP 1.7 demo unit from a dealer a couple weeks ago.  I am extremely happy with this piece of equipment so far.   One problem though is that when we are fast forwarding or switching channels with our HD comcast DVR the unit is constantly switching between analog/digital and makes an annoying click noise each time it loses digital sync.  My research has found that a firmware upgrade offers a "digital force" feature to fix this.  The receiver while brand new to me has a very old firmware OS V39 and DSP v1.8    I called to find out about an update and was told it would cost $50 to get the update.  The list of things in the update sound more like bug fixes and though a bit annoyed at having to pay to get them resolved I gave her the credit card info and said thank you.  10 days later my card had not been charged and I had heard anything from Bryston.  I called and talked to someone named Cam, and he said he would look into it.   That was last week and I have not heard back.    I am hoping someone reading this thread from Bryston can help me out.   I am used to updating my equipment, but everything else is downloadable.  When an HDMI interface is available I will be first in line to send this unit in for an upgrade to the newest unit, but until then I would like to get it updated to correct this issue.

Thanks,
