Hello all ,most of you know I am always complaning of lack of lows so I tried a Velo SMS-1 with my SVS SB12+ sub and this is what I got on the quick self set up
Looks like a dip 70-80 hz
Guess that is why I am complaining the sub and speakers dont blend well (and this is after the EQ )
Any thoughts on tweeking this unit

Start by turning the level down on your sub - it's way above you mains and maxing out the SMS display - you can't effectively tweak it when the level goes to the top like that.

The mains were not on -this was only from the sub
SO if I lower the sub and let the SMS-1 do its job -then I should calibrate the sub back to blend with the mains
I now have 3 ways of increasing volume on my sub
Denon 3805
the sub itself
and the SMS-1

One thing I've read about the SMS-1 is that the applied EQ can be too much for a given sub to tolerate.

I'm not familiar with your sub, but I see there's a 6db boost at 20hz on the SMS dispay.

Just a word of caution, that all subs may not be happy being flat to 20hz at real-world volumes, even though this degree of EQ is theoretically possible.

I don't have an SMS-1 but thought I'd pass along this (possibly over-cautious) caution.

Start by just turning down the volume on your Denon, then sweep the sub again.  Add the mains and see how they integrate.  Play with the sub controls (level on the sub and phase) to get good integration with the mains.

As others have mentioned, turn the level down on the sub until the average level is around 80db.  This way you should be able to see all of the peaks and dips easily.  You do not need to adjust the phase on the sub itself, as this is done with the SMS-1. 

Move the sub around until you find the location which provides the smoothest response without using eq.  Then follow this tutorial:
