RM40 CDWG Center Channel

OK some of us are a little squeaky up top to pursue this hobby, but I might be the King of Overkill :bomb:

BUT. . . . . . . . aa

I think we should use an RM40 for a CENTER speaker!!!!

 8) 8) 8)

Now remember, I am the one who has 4 LARGER subs in my 2 channel audio room.

But what a CENTER channel statement that would make.  And it is very symmetrical and balanced when placed horizontally with the wave guide...... Just imagine how big the sweet spot would be? :o :o

And with 4 Panels?  Forget about dialogue, it will be as clear as whispering in your ear.

What an incredible fullness you would have no matter what you used for Mains and Surrounds.

In fact Get this:

There are lots of of RM40's of the Spiral Ribbon era, that could be had for a very good price.

Put one of these in a system with 2 pair of 626 Jr's and a LARGER sub?????

Get outa Town***

Can anyone think of a HT system that would blow your hair back more than that for $4Kish?

And the CDWG would make vertical dispersion excellent.

And the extra Bass would likely be just what the DR ordered.

Also you might want to turn the "slot" backwards for aesthetics.

Now I know I have heard of VMPS'ers doing this, but don't currently know of anyone.  I'm surprised it is not done more.

Just a thought. . . . . . . .   . .   ..

John, do you know of anyone who has tried a horizontally mounted RM30/40 with CDWG?  Am I going to be the first?  (When I get around to installing the WG, that is.)

Hi Bob,

I think there are quite a few RM30 CDWG Center Channels out there, but no RM40's that I am currently aware of.

A single RM40 is only $2300 retail and should just "wail" as a CENTER.

Lots of used ones out there too.

The RM40 would make a great center channel, if you have the room for it!  (And can lift it into place.)
