Wal-Mart now has the $599 version of the PS3 in stock.  I do want to get one, but since I just bought a new amp & a new center channel I better wait awhile.  What is considered the best of the new games for it?  BTW, I don't like racing/driving games.

I dunno...I've never liked 'em, they bore me.  The one driving game I enjoyed in limited doses was Gotham City Racing.  I really loved that you could rip your own songs to the HD and play them back while you race.  Very cool feature.  Even so, I never managed to play for more than an hour per day, and never got very far before I utterly lost interest.  My favorite genres would have to RPGs & your Resident Evil type games, with first person shooters right up there.  For the original Playstation my all time favorites were Resident Evil, MechWarrior 2, Ace Combat 2 & Diablo.  My favorite Xbox games are KotOR & HALO, and I loved the Legacy of Kain games & Castle Wolfenstein, too.

Fighting games are a bit like driving games to me, a little goes a long ways.  I do really like Soul Calibre and the sequels- probably the best fighters ever made IMO.

I would like to hear all of this, but ask that we move it into a new topic - this is the sticky topic for new game purchases.
