In my system, all interconnects are now handmade interconnects made from pure silver wire. Many people think that interconnects made from silver sound thin and shrilly, however, my experience with silver interconnects is that the sound just gets cleaned up - and if there is any thin and shrilly sound, it comes from some other part of the system.
I've been experimenting with cables and making my own cabling for some years how, and I've been able to develop my silver interconnects to a point where people who have heard them also want to own them! So, I've come up with an interconnect concept that I call the Equilibrium Cable. This interconnect is made of pure silver wire (sterling silver is no good for audio) insulated with teflon and is configured in a certain manner. I've never been able to find any thin or shrilly sound in this cable in any of the systems I've tried it in. I should perhaps mention that I use Eichmann Silver Bullet Plugs for the Equilibrium Cable. This is because listening tests revealed that there were rather large differences in sound between the "ordinary" Bullet Plugs and the silver ones when used in conjunctions with silver wire. It seems that an audio signal travelling through a silver wire does not like being transferred to a lesser material

In fact, virtually all cabling in my system is pure silver. I'm just putting the final touches on my new power cord that is nothing less than astonishing. Actually, in some systems where I've tried this power cord, very large improvements in sound were obtained - even when comparing with fairly expensive "big name" power cords. My power cord is called the Equilibrium PowerCable and is also made of pure silver wire insulated with teflon.
The sound from my interconnects (if they do have a sound at all) is open, clear and crisp with a large (correct) soundstage and correct rendering of the recording studio/concert hall. Why settle for less?
