Safe to stack mono extremes?

Can I stack a pair of mono extremes?  Anything wrong with that?

Guess the face plates will overlap some:  the one on top will be about an inch recessed.  They run cool so I can't see heat being a problem.....

Rob, I stacked mine, and there's never a problem...they run cool...
One thing though, make sure that the feet are on the heatsink of the one on the bottom as mine the feet are resting on the thin cover, so I put a piece of plywood or something over the whole top of the bottom so that the weight of the top one is evenly distributed.

Rob,
I spoke to Klaus about this point when I was ordering my Ex-mono's and he said "no problem". Although it is not the best solution (stacking) in some cases it may be the only way to position the mono's in the space available. If you were to ask "Bunky" (who is a member here) he might caution you against stacking as he apparently had a bias issue arise with his Mono's when he did this.

i have never tried to stack the Stratos mono cases, i tried it briefly with the Khartago monos but the fact that they have internal heatsinks caused them to heat up rapidly because they disperse their heat from the top of the case.as soon as they got too hot i placed them on seperate shelves. i have had zero bias problems or any other problems with any of my Odyssey Amplifiers.i would imagine it would be OK to stack the Stratos cased power amplifiers because they use external heatsinks.thanks....WCW III

They fit perfectly.
No overlap, no wood, no problem.
If you're working in a tight space as pictured below I would suggest placing a towel on top of the bottom amp prior to sliding the top one into place.  This will prevent the finish on the top of the bottom amp from getting scuffed.  Once in place work the towel out from between them.

Here's a couple of pictures of the Mono Extremes I had:

Enjoy,

Bunky,
I offer my apology.
I thought it was you that noted in another thread about stacking & bias but I was wrong. The fellow that spoke of this was TVAD and it seemed to be an isolated case at best.

Guys:

Thanks for your expertise here.  I chose the wood strips ( 3/4in plywood ) to evenly distribute the weight.  The feet to the amp are just inside of the sturdy and supportive heat sinks, and I was a little afraid to leave the weight centered entirely on the top plate (although I'm sure that would have been ok too )

Also, the feet on my monos are lower so that the face plates do touch when stacked alone,  maybe the feet have changed recently or mine are just adjusted lower.  Anyhow seems to be ok now, not pretty but functional and hidden in my audio cave beside my regular rack.
