Analysis software for Mac
« on: 4 Jan 2007, 03:41 pm »
I'm looking for some type of analysis software to aid in implementing room treatments in my loft.  Any ideas?  I really need no bells and wistles just a mic and program to help point out the nasties inmy system.

Maybe this belongs in Square circle, I don't know?

Thanks
Christof

SpectraFoo from Metric Halo does this but is $$$$. Used by pros to set up p.a.'s for large concerts.

I plan to go with a Behringer Ultracurve 24/96 one day. I will port th signal digitally out of my Metric Halo ULN2 into the Behringer, then digitally back into the ULN2, then out to the amp.

Fuzzmeasure is made for the Mac and it looks very good. I've only played around with the demo, but it isn't cheap.

Room EQ Wizard is free. Several people have got it to work with a Mac.
Looks like a new version will be coming out that will work better with Macs.

You can get it http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/bfd-rew-downloads/19-bfd-guide-room-eq-wizard-downloads.html.

OK, so I'm really computer dumb, but does this mean that with using the computer as a source and feeding the amp via a Squeeze Box/etc. that the signal can be EQ'd at the computer before going to the Squeeze Box?  And would this be easy enough for dummie me to setup and do?

My goal is to keep the analog signal as simple as possible (note the single driver speakers and chip based monoblock amps in my system listing below), and I'd like to do room EQ while replacing the zobel/baffle step circuit currently needed between the amps and speakers.

Thanks for the help.
