Hi MrBunge,

Tried to mail you through your website, but my mails kept on coming back.
My question is : can the built in MC phonoamp of my RG3mk4 be set for accepting low output MC cartridge (this is: the Zyx Airy 3S; 0,24mV) ? I'm using it now with a high output Zyx (0,48mV), for which it was set when I bought it a few months ago.

I mailed and faxed R. Gemein, but I did not get answer untill now.

I need to be sure (asap :- ) before buying the Zyx Airy...

I phoned Symphonic Line and they confirmed the built in phono amp does accept low output MC cartridges. So my problem is solved and I can get the ZYX Airy 3 S.

Thanks for posting that info.  My Symphonic Line Die Erleuchtung preamp has a MC phonostage.  I spoke to Klaus a while back and he said it would work with output as low as .25mv.  I haven't had the chance to try it yet and was reluctant to post that it would.  Especially when the cartridge you are considering is not cheap!  Please post how it works out for you.

I mentioned I'd get a Zyx (which they did not know well) with low output and they told me their own cartridge (RG8, based on a Vandenhul) is low output too. The Zyx is 0,24mV, so I hope this won't cause any problems... I guess the MC phonostage is equal in Die Erleuchtung and RG3. It would be an extra assurance if Klaus could doublecheck my 'problem'. So if he could chime in...
