Ok, I'm back.  Had a wonderful time.  Learned a ton of stuff.  My room was packed non-stop for both Friday and Saturday, and then everyone went a bit quiet on Sunday, so I did a quick run around to see a few of the other rooms, there are folks I wanted to say hello to.  Weather was perfect.  Sunny and warm on setup and teardown days, snow during the show (keep em inside).  I had a chance to whip up to Boulder on Wednesday before getting my boxes from Thom's house.  Nice scenery.

Show report will mostly be on my blog.  I typed it up on the plane coming home.  Anyway, here's what my room looked like.  The Azzolinas were visually imposing and brought a huge crowd into the room.

Sources were the Galibier table into a TRUMPET, and my P3 into a RIPPER and PC.  Mostly just spun vinyl.  Once in awhile someone wanted a demo of the RIPPER, which always went great.  Everyone thought it was a super product.

All of the photographers were snapping up shots of the UFO PRO.  It was also a hit, but I haven't noticed any online talk about it yet.

On the other side I made a wall of half-kits for sale.  This show no longer caters to the DIY crowd, so it wasn't like VSAC in that respect.  Did sell out of a few items.  Also sold the VACUTRACE and some guy bought the CHIME right out of my rack.

Sound was better on Saturday as the cables and tubes broke in.  Unfortunately, I had a broken resistor in the TRUMPET, which took up all my setup time before the show, and I ended up not using the nice NOS tube set I had matched up.  Show was played on brand new stock Sovteks.  But still, we had excellent sound.  A lot of people were rather stunned by the quality of the CYMBALs, as they made a perfect match for these horns.

Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of show coverage online, but I was able to dig these few links up today:

Nice room.  Looks like fun gadgets all around.  Are those bass cabinets available from azzolina as a plan or kit?  Looks like they would mate well with OB modified fostex 206e's I have around 200 hz.

Did the Clarion get some play too?  Any impressions in this setup?

The speakers come finished.  Not cheap, either.  Maybe $17k or so.  I brought the CLARION as a backup, but didn't play it in my room.  Speakers cables were just a hair short.

We did have a psuedo amplifier shootout Saturday night in the Galibier room.  I played the CLARION there.  It was NOT as good as the Serious Sound mesh plate 2A3 (freakin good), but absolutely smoked the digital amp.  I'm going to see if I can change the cathode and bypass caps in the CLARION to something other than the Solens.  Think it might help.  We also noticed that there was an issue with subsonic information - the bypassing was insufficient - making the lamps flicker.  There was a record warp and a tad bit of rumble that made the bias shift visible, but only at the outer edge of the record.  Anyway, this will lead to IM distortion.  I need to address this.

Interesting, but without the lamps on the front this would have never been found.  In fact, since that part of my circuit is common to nearly all other SET amps, they too will have this problem.  Just that nobody really noticed it.
