Danny, which speakers are you planning to bring to the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest?

It depends on whether I have LS-6's or LS-9's completed in time.  :D

It'd be killer, and extremely instructive, to hear the line arrays and the open baffles in the same room with the same equipment!

Those two designs, each "state of the art" in their own way, would really illustrate the inherent tradeoffs in fundamental design approaches.

Hope you can have them ready cause I would like to hear them. Do you think the Stereophile reviewers will have an epiphany like they did when they first heard the Epiphanies?

Yes, that's the picture I remembered! Right speaker, wrong magazine.

The Stereophile and TAS reviewers listen to so many speakers ranging from budget priced to obscenely expensive, but once you get above $5K or so there's a sameness to the sound of all the box-enclosed point source speakers. The differences as you move up the price scale are audible but incremental.

Then they hear a well designed line array using good drivers and crossover parts, and the improvement over what they have heard in the past is so phenomenal they have an "I never dreamed it could be this good" epiphany. It happened with the Pipedreams, then with the Pips.

Too bad you can't buy a line array for less than $15K or everybody would want a pair.

Danny,
If you have some LS's ready to go, will you also set up some of your OB's?

Oh, I am taking a Rosewood pair of OB-7's. They are too good not to take.   :green:

OBs and Line Arrays Oh Boy!

Having heard both on separate occasions, I can't wait to hear them in one place.

I am looking forward to seeing you again Hal. Is your buddy Chris going too?

You have to hear this new O-3 omni-directional design too. It is a surprise.
