HagUSB Line Out Question
« on: 24 Sep 2006, 03:02 am »
I'm in the process of putting together a HagUSB with the intent of using the output as a line out to a headphone amplifier (for now) and eventually utilizing the digital out to a full blown DAC.  I've got a question about the output resistors R9/R11.  It seems like the default recommendation of 1.5K might be specifically for driving headphones directly but what about as a line level output?  The PCM2704 spec sheet seems to suggest that for a line output, these should probably be 10K.  What would be the recommended changes to the values in the case of using the analog out as a line level output?  Thanks.

10k for these resistors is fine, I chose the 1.5k value solely because that value was already used elsewhere.  Doesn't matter, though if you use the 100uF coupling caps.  If you just want line out, probably better to change to a 1uF film cap with a 100k bleeder to ground.

Is what you're saying that its probably better to change C11/C12 to 1uF Film and R9/R11 to 100K?  Thanks for the quick reply.
