Quality of the Apex II

Hi everyone

I am new to this forum, and I am an avid 2 channel music listener. I have time for one more upgrade to my stereo system before children, and a statement speaker would fit the bill perfectly. I would rather build than purchase commercial designs, and rawacoustics is within striking distance of my home. What I am wondering is, if you all could compare the Apex II to some widely available commercial offerings as far as quality goes. With a view to both bass extension, and detail, how do they measure up. The high end that I am most familiar with is B&W 800 series, but any widely available speaker would be helpful. What am I getting for $2000? Thanks for your input.

Jon,  I posted a little review when I first got these http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=28918.0

They sound significantly smoother and the bass is much more balanced now that they've broken in fully.  The depth these provide is amazing, expecially in my small room.  Bass with the Response Audio modded Jolida 3000 is also amazing,  quick,  deep, tuneful but never bloated.  I can listen for hrs without fatigue.  Highly recommended.  I did have a couple snaffus but AL's service is FIRST Rate.  I had an LPad go out and AL shipped me 2 just incase - an Extremis was rattling and AL promply replaced that too.  Any mechanical device is subject to failure but its the after purchase service that make a good company.  RAW is about tops in my book for speakers!  Sorry for any typing mistakes ;)
