Bob Dylan: Modern Times

Picked this up a couple days ago and it has gone through the system a few times.

Very very good.  Much better than most of the modern comeback albums.  It really shouldnt even be compared to this.  While it is somewhat of a departure from some of his traditional sound, it is still all Dylan, and very very good.

Highly recomended.

Tracks 1 and 3 are really sticking with me so far.

Oh, and a good recording.

I second the emotion   :thumb:

Glad to see he still has it, I was concerned when I started seeing apple Ipod ads for it, but IMO this is one of his best in decades

My wife just bought us tickets to go see him in October, can't wait as this will be my first time seeing Bob.
Couldn't stop playing his"Time Out of Mind " LP for almost a year.
Just love that he has  been everywhere in the world and just about seen it all. His words paint a picture, especially like his "Highlands" cut, last track off of Time out of mind.funny and descriptive and love the texture of the guitars.
Figured I better catch him while at least one of us is still kickin.

Haven't pick up the Modern Times yet. On my list to do .

It sounds as a piece with Love And Theft ... which is a very good thing .

I'm enjoying the LP of this title very much.  Bob's still got it IMO.

Yeah, still enjoying it here.

As to the SQ, It is a touch intimate with Dylan seeming a touch larger than ususal and a touch large with reference to other similar recordings.  However, this really brings to light the great things that he does with his voice and the character that he frames the lyrics with.

The music is masterfully done and recorded.

The songwriting is just great too, lovin' it.

Must pick this one up. Read all but the last 20 pages Chronicles and loved it. Then I lost it somewhere! Got to find it . . .

Latest issue of Rolling Stone features interview with Bob.
Also, the latest issue of Mojo has lengthy articles on him and this release as well as  a "free" cover CD of 15 tracks that supposedly inspired Dylan, ranging from Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee to Thelonious Monk.
