Teres 3XX, It's alive!

Last night I was able to give the new Teres 3XX prototype a listen.  The sound, well I
was up until midnight enjoying what seemed like a new record collection...

The thing is a beast  :o

Chris,

That thing is HUGE :o

I can't wait until next weekend to hear it.

I've been dusting off my old vinyl to play with my newly built phono stage. I KNOW it will be really hard to go back to the MMF-5 after I get a taste of the 3xx

Chris,

The new table is simply gorgeous!  Art and Audio coming together as one.  Sorry I was not able to get to the Mid-West show   - maybe next year.  Congratulations.

Beautiful!

I'm looking forward to hearing it next week. Oh yea!

What do you have the base and the motor perched on?

The teardrop base, black rings and the shelf are all bolted together into one rigid
assembly.  The black rings are anodized aluminum and filled with lead shot for
extra damping and mass.  Here are a few pictures to illustrate:

Chris,

Now that's what I call mass loading! What does the completed unit weigh in at? 120lbs or so? Very nice job.

Geezus H.... I hope I never see this thing in person, cause I think I would have to resort to selling major limbs in order to raise the cash to get one!

From CAD concept to reality in what, a few weeks?  F%$&  incredible!  I am in awe of your work Mr. Brady! :o

Thanks!  Although this one moved along rapidly it was a bit more than two weeks.  The
platter was ordered almost 6 months ago and most of the ideas have been percolating for
at least that long.  However, the final concept for the design was first rendered just 7
weeks ago.

Mike, I have not gotten the scale out yet but I estimate that the thing weighs 120-130 pounds.

Have I missed the cost of this monster?  I'm afraid to ask!

As they say, "If you have to ask, you can't afford it!"

I'm guessing at least 5K. The 265 is $3,700 and this appears to be a major step up. Maybe 6K? I dunno, I'm just glad I'll get to hear, see and touch it. Hmm.. I better bring a bib so the drool doesn't hit the 'table.

Too early for a firm price, but 6k will be in the ballpark.

Thanks to my procrastination in putting my Teres table together I was able to use the pictures in this thread to change my construction idea to mimic the 3XX.  I have pictures of the progress I made in knocking off this design in my gallery.
