We are currently moving over from offering these as kits to only assembled.   Part of the reason is we can build these as cheap or cheaper than we can offer the kit.

We have some special pricing at the moment on these so I thought I'd pass it on to the AC members.   Not only that... when you buy an Asylum Cable you can purchase the awesome Pass & Seymour 5262-AW outlet for a discount.    We highly recommend these two economical and high performing solutions if you havn't made any efforts to improve the AC side of you system.

$47    4ft Assembled Cable

$52    6ft Assembled Cable

$57    8ft Assembled Cable

How much is the outlet if purchased with the cable?

I think $13.92 each.   I pay $6.85 when I buy 100 of them.  They are the best outlet, even counting the audio branded units, that I've used.

I'm not into voodoo, cryo treating them and pixie dust though.  I don't listen to them and try to determine what sounds the best.   I simply make that judgement based upon mechanical strength, and the seat of the pants touch and feel.

Very... you could wrap it around a golf ball.

We also stock a 90 degree IEC that would help in very tight situations.   It isn't needed 99.9% of the time though because the Asylum Cable is flexible enough to route easily.

At $50 our goal was to make the price low enough that they are a good impulse purchase.  I guess we passed the test.  :-)

Feedback here on how they work out for you would be much appriciated.

Would this be a good power cord for a home theater receiver. I have cryoclear and mac-wire cords on everything except my receiver and I've been looking for a decently priced cord for my receiver. Is there anything out there with which you would compare this cord?

Something like the PS Audio Super Punch?

You did well! I will let you know how it goes.

How about carrying a nice IEC power inlet with integrated fuse? It would be desirable for those of us who are piecing together our own Hypex amp from your modules or for other DIY projects...

Best,

Paul

I have one.... just not on the site.   It is a Schurter unit that uses a standard 5x20mm fuse.   Holds an extra also.   You need a 8A slow blo for non-Softstart amps.   You can use a 4A Fast blo if you have a softstart.

I don't do subjective comparisons on something like this.   Cables are all voodoo and pixie dust and giving people reliable subjective advice on cables is an exercise in frustration.    An exercise that can stretch one's credibility and ethical foundation.  ;-)

These are just a well designed cord with very good quality connectors.

50$ is a great price for a power cord...I usually make my own, but at this price why bother...just ordered one to compare with my own DIYs.
Its tough getting out of your site without spending twice as much as planned.

Hey don't forget that outlet.   The P&S 5262-AW is an awesome match with the P&S AC plug we use.    I have a technician to keep busy so building them is as cheap as selling the parts.  :-)

Hey Kevin, yes I did order the outlet too, and it looks very heavy duty...the brass(?) strapping and wire fastener is much thicker than the Hospital grade Cooper available from the big boxes...in fact it looks comparable to the Hubbell.
I also got a pair of the Exodus speaker binding post...I am looking at the WBTs I got and your Exodus...half the price and damn if I can see the reason for the price difference.
Got to install these new parts and 'see'/hear if there is a difference.
Great selection Kevin.

The outlet option is still at a discount but this sale is over.   The standard price is only $10 more than the sale price though and we currently are running free shipping for any orders over $100 which depending on what you are getting is about the same.
