« on: 9 Jul 2006, 06:35 pm »
i've got ACI Essences LR that are going to placed in a wall cavity. the cavity is about 48"H, 15"D and 15"W. Besides placing the speakers on Aurelex MoPads, what else should i do? btw the Essences are sealed.

thanks

Sunny:

You want to eliminate the cavity . . . easiest way is fill the open area with open cell acoustic foam. You don't have to fill the complete depth, just 8-10".

Just go to Google and type in Acoustic Foam . . . you'll find a ton of suppliers. It just needs to be any type of open cell acoustic foam . . . probably easiest to use in 2" thickness. Can be cut with sharp scissors.

You sure can call me . . .  just call me Mike  :D  I'll be in the office from 9-1 CST almost every Monday and Wed this summer . . . other times as well

You found the stuff! That is perfect. You'll want to fill in the cavity around the speakers so they become flush. They are good looking speakers aren't they, and they sound even better  :D
