Wow, why do you give up, you are almost there! I bought the full HT kit (av3, av3s, av1rs) several months ago and I'm not finished yet but progressing... slowly. I would never want to quit without at least listening to the finished product! Your boxes look pretty good, just a bit more work and you'll be enjoying them, I encourage you to give it a bit more patience.
I really wanted to build this myself ... and tried more than a few times. My major constraint is that i live in a small apartment, and using power tools to cut MDF or ply is a -MAJOR- hassle.
And i don't have a table saw ... and using a regular circle saw one never gets (atleast me) accurate cuts. Just to get this far, i had to cut and recut several boards of ply. Towards the end
when I saw that i had cut one of the sides a little short, i threw in the towel!
So whoever takes these cabinets needs to make one more cut for one side of the cabinet.
I found a pair of A/V 3 locally ... so i'm running that with a bunch of amps (Teac digital amp, Monarchy SM-70 Pro, Luminous Audio Passive Pre and onix melody integrated). I can vouch for
the sound quality of these speakers! They sound awesome .. especially with the onix. I can feel the bass in my guts when i'm listening to Massive Attack's latest compilation CD.
Thanks!
