Used they run about $2000-3000, more for the Super (which uses KT88's). I've used an Avatar SE (EL34's) for 2 years now, which is 60w ultralinear, and 27w triode. Sound is gorgeous, not at all like a softer EL34 amp but gutsy (within its power range) and in triode, it has that SET-like appeal. Build quality is terrific and the amp is beatiful.
Preferred the Avatar SE over the Manley Stingray and the Cary SLI-80. If you can deal with less power (8-16 wpc), consider the Viva (an 845 tube).
I also owned the Passion amp, which is an ASL with better transformers and caps. Liked it alot!! They are harder to find since they are marketed primarily to Canadian buyers. I think the ASL is decently made for the price, just not the last word in sonics.
