My first visit to the Record Exchange

I've been passing by the Record Exchange for about a year off and on now, on my way to visit family friends. This time I was alone so I decided to stop in and see what you guys were talking about from the last "Tour".
It was all you guys said, plenty of records, CD's, cassette tapes, Video tapes, games etc along with an assortment of vintage tuners, recievers, speakers and of course Turntables.
What all of you guys failed to mention was, the incredible sound coming from the 2 pairs of Home edition Voice of the Theater speakers they have providing background music for the place.
Eric Burton's and the Animals "Fire", The Door Riders on the Storm, and Santana's "Well Alright" ( Don't quote me on all these titles and names). But they all sound so good it was hard to leave the place, I could have pulled up a seat and sat there for hours, but I thought they might want to charge me addmission.
I did ask if they would sell one pair, the guy just looked at me and said no thanks.
   Have fun

Isn't that a grand place, Willie!?!

Those are some wonderful speakers, for certain.
Saw a pair a few weeks ago on Ebay looking suspiciously like those, especially in size, billed as 'Magnificents' that started at $3k, but I'd probably pay it if I had it.

Then again, I think I would need a room about the size of theirs if I wanted to play them.

By the way, that 300B of mine you worked on just keeps sounding better and better, especially on the Boleros!   :D  :D  :D
Thanks again!!

Was it a pair of these?

It's been a couple of years since I was in Record Exchange but I remember the speakers being in large cabinets.  Kind of ugly but retro looking.  Same speakers?

I agree the sound is awesome!  I remarked to the store owner about them and he just nodded.  I did not know that they were essentially movie theater speakers.  Very pricey though.

My dad knows a guy who is in the theater business.  I'm wondering if he might be able to find an 'antique' pair.  Probably still pricey though.

Yeah that's the ones.  What nation is that from your first link?  Russia?

But yeah, I had the same experience when hearing them.  Granted they sounded great with classic rock, I wonder how they would handle other genres.

Yeah, that first link was Russian, but it told the story...

Regarding other genre's, I'd bet better than even odds that if you liked the sound of them on classic rock, you'd like them on many other styles of music.
I've been pleased with both my 19's and Boleros  with pretty much anything I throw at them in the areas of rock, jazz, acoustic and vocal.
Sometimes it is the recording itself that fails, but that's another problem.
I'd expect those big 'uns to be just as enjoyable, but merciless for what kind of room you could put them in.  Certainly not a 2 bedroom apt., unless the whole building has your musical tastes...

I asked one of the younger employees about the speakers.  He said his boss will never sell them, but when the boss is away, the employees crank the hell out of them.
