Mercury 2 with monos?

Hi-

Looks like I am purchasing a deHavilland Mercury 2 preamplifier (http://www.dehavillandhifi.com/MERCURY_PRE.htm) to use with my Odyssey Mono Extremes.  Has anybody used this preamp with the Monos?  I am looking forward to checking it out, as I currently use a Yamaha Integrated as my pre.  Any input is valuable....

Thanks,
Rob

if you want tubes -you might want to think about the candela-
klaus should be shipping them soon-
the sound is a wonderful match for the extremes

but you can only take my word since i have the only one outside odyssey with one so far-just add some old tubes and you will be astounded by the music-

I've used a deHavilland Ultraverve, the predacessor to the Mercury with my Extreme Monos and it was excellent. I havn't heard the Candella but I can say that the deHavilland gear sounds great with them.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen.

I was prepared to buy a Candela, but I am not that patient.  As it is, I have been trying to stay in my budget, and I feel I got a great deal on the Mercury.  The Candela looks to be a couple months out yet, and so I just went for what I can get now.  Was also very interested in a Modwright, based on favorable reports from other Mono users.  Rosconey, have you tried any other tube gear with the Monos?

mgalusha, thanks for the report regarding the ultraverve.  One of the reviews I read mentioned that the Ultraverve actually had better low end than the Mercury, and the Mercury shined in the mids and highs.  I expect the Mercury to sound great, though.

Thanks dudes.
