AB- Any chance you can provide any more detail? The disc posted by Arthurs warrants some discussion and if you will indulge me, here goes. The music on this disc was recorded by Jim Anderson and unlike his work with close up miking of Patricia Barber, this one is more discreetly miked. I believe the producer was going for a more sophisticated sound. Very sucessfully, I might add. Dianne Krall, Jane Monheit, Diana Reeves, and Cassandra Wilson are on this. Ms. Krall doesn't sound like the same singer when you move the microphone away. Cassandra Wilson has got to be the most closely miked singer in history. If she were in your room and her nose was touching your nose, she wouldn't sound like she does on her records- abominably over processed to these ears and tastes. Here, she is a better, even more compelling singer. Thanks, Mr. A. "Too Young To Go Steady" has Miss Moncrief front and center, clear as a bell and unprocessed sounding, with Terrence Blanchard just off and behind her left shoulder. All are served equally well, however there are those of you who will miss the presence of Ms. Krall's "whiskey-honey" throatyness, as I've heard it called, on her own recordings. Nice recording,
