HT2 Question
« on: 10 May 2006, 09:45 pm »
First of all, I am very interested in RawAcoustic speakers.  They seem to be of excellent value and price and I plan on purchasing a kit sometime this summer.  Now for my question:  Why does the HT2 utilize the FR125 midwoofer with the chopped edges?  Why not the completely round frame like the one used in the HT1?  Just a curiousity...

Thanks for the interest

The HT2 does not use the FR125 at all.
The HT2 uses the WR125ST.This is a 16 ohm driver.

Not hte sameat all as the FR the FR driver is a full bandwidth driver the WR125Sand WR125ST are wide bandwidth drivers not full range as the FR125S

Oops, pardon my ignorance.  Looks can be deceiving.  Sorry about that!

Cool
Yes using the 16 ohm drivers(WR125ST) allows us to have a over all 10 ohm impedance using these drivers.
Making the load very eay for any amp to drive.

Were if we did a MTM with the WR125S 8ohm drivers the impedance would be around 6 ohms.

Also it was the HT2 that made doing the CNC (premachined baffles) a must as alot of people would not beable to machine the holes for the Wr125ST.
