Hi Henry
Great to hear about your new revelations. Tweaking is so much fun,
but when you make a change like what you've done it becomes an epiphany.
A little background, Henry took a decent design ( resistor loaded 417A/5842 cap-couple to a small Edcor interstage tranny to the PP45's to the Wurlitzer OPT's). This made for a really good sounding amp, that I was proud to pass on to Henry. In a later conversation with Henry we talked about what improvements could be made to the amp. I'm so glad Henry upgraded, Jack's Transformer are " THE SH*T " ... nuff said.
Henry you might be okay with the orientation of the trannies all in a line, if you are not picking up any hum. But If you wanted to go a step further, reorienting the trannies to a alternating arrangement would be best. Alternating the interstage and OPT might make some difference. It will be your decision whether the effort is worthwhile or not.
Thanks for the update and Have fun !
Willie
