Emergency !!! Loss of squeezebox connection and need advice

I added a Hawking antenna to my Linksys modem (replaced one of the 2 antennas), and the signal strength increased by about 15%, which was anough to put me over the edge.  Also, it does matter how the antennas are positioned.

My cable modem is on the 2nd floor, and my SB3 is in the basement.  To make matters worse,  immediately over my SB3 is a steel I beam, a large metal air duct, and various wires and pipes.

After reading these posts I checked my signal on my wireless SB2.  Seems I'm only getting under 20%.  No drop outs or problems, but wonder what I could do to improve it.  The Linksys router is only about 12 feet from the squeezebox in the same room.

With the router that close to the SB you should be getting 100% signal strength.

I had a linksys router like yours but when I switched over to SBC DSL I got a Gateway 2wire wireless router with the install package. The package was one step up from entry leval. Now I have a 90% read almost all the time. Never gets below 87%.

that's why I'm wondering what could be the problem.  Anything I should check?

Could be interference from another wireless network. Try changing the channel on which your router operates.

Anything blocking the "view" of the SB? Other than that I can't think of what the problem could be other than what has already been suggested. (changing channels).

figured this out, accidently hit some SES button instead of save changes.  Need to figure out how to solve this problem now.
