The new DNA 125, I think costs about $1500 more or less. An used one might go between $900-1000, but they are rare in the market. If you can push the limit of what you want to spend, maybe look into the larger, more powerful brother, the 225, can be had for less than $1500 (cost $2800 new.) The best part of this amp, both the 125 and 225 is that they give you an option of upgrading to become one of the finest SS out there, when the time comes. Many, many people are very happy with the older and new models in their stock form.
The Nait 5i is also a screaming bargain, but if you want absolute, tightfist control of the Kefs, perhaps eventhough the naim 50 watts seems pratty enough, it might not be sufficient to really be in control.
The DNAs sound very pratty, fast, and fairly neutral to the source, without being cold or clinical, something of a feat in itself.
Having a op chip based monoblocks as my reference now, I would tend to agree with Maxwalrath, BUT
having ran a pair of sort of mid sensitivity 89 db monitors with a passive subwoofer module that dips at the absolute minimum to 5.9 ohms, the Op chips did not have the power to drive them in any sense.
The Naim 5is did.
The DNA 225 whips them into shape producing good tunes.
of course, all these things are lose suggestions, you need to actually go out there and listen to some of these amps and if you like them, go for a decently priced one in Gon. Repeat, the 125 are rare in the used market (must be really incredible) but the 225s are readily available.
I have not heard the Van Alstine amplifiers, but they do seem to have their supporters.
