If you base your opinion on what this album will be like based on any thing else you have heard by them you are just hurting yourself.

It is similiar in a dual string insturment sense, there are two guitars and one bass player. The drummer is well pretty dang good (plays regular drums and bongos, some times in same song). The singer's voice is very good but you would never know from hearing it on the radio or car stereo etc... it is very interesting and powerful.

There are a number of rock songs, yet there are two very slow ones. Hurt, as you know from Nine Inch Nails and Johnny Cash is great. Angel's Son is an original done by them as a tribute to the lead guy in Snot (I am not familiar with the band), and is a beautiful powerful, and emotional song, which is not fast rock.

Either which way of all new live performances comparable to Alice in Chains this certainly takes the cake and some of the ice cream. The voice of the singer puts Alice in Chains in a sub-par performance, even the back up singer who does a song is better.

Any ways I hope some of you will pick it up and enjoy it as I know I do.

Hmm...you have me at least rethinking this one.  I would have dismissed it simple because I don't like Sevendust, in fact I don't really like Lajon's voice (love it or hate it I guess).  I use to own a Sevendust album, their first I guess, way back when but grew tired of it very quickly.

Since it was mentioned, Snot is a pretty interesting group.  It is serious agro-screaming-modern funk rock. I can only take it a song or two at a time, but every once in a while when I feel like jumping around spastically, head banging and smashing into things at home, I put the disc in and crank it.  I recommend downloading a track or two off allofmp3 (pick from the first 4 tracks) and give it a listen.  They are certainly not following the sheep of neo-metal and not at all radio friendly, they were just doing their own thing.
