Pehaps a good way to mount/hang compressed 'glass?

I was in a retail store the other day and they had some 2'x4' rectangles of welded wire mesh (mesh size about 2" square) hung from the ceiling w/ "J" hooks. The mesh looked like wire shelving.

I thought that might be a good way to hang compressed 'glass panels. It would be rigid, so no sag, open to let sound through, easy to do, and cheap.

Sorry if someone's mentioned this before. I'd only seen post about frames and pegboard.

Sorry I wasn't clear about what I saw. This store wasn't selling this stuff....it was used as a display. The had this mesh hung in various places and then they would hang banners and such from it.

Here's a link to a place that sells retail store fixtures that has this type product.http://www.storefixtures-online.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=SFOL&Category_Code=gwpa

$30 for 2 2x4 panels.
