cornet2 VS classic cornet
« on: 14 Mar 2006, 11:54 am »
Hi to everyone I'm new on this forum,I 'm looking for a good tube phono stage kit and I found the Hagerman kit very interesting.
My gear is Pro-ject TT with Grado gold and AKSA pre and amplifier now I would like to upgrade my phonostage.
I would like to know the differences about Cornet2 and Classic ,Trumpet is too much expensive for me so I think to choice the Cornet2,is this right?

Thank you

Paolo from ITALY

Hi Paolo,

Since nobody else spoke up I'll try to help you out...  I think you can build both to essentially the same specs so that's not an issue.  The connections to the pc boards are different, though - note how all the connectors on the Cornet 2 are in the "back", while usually the Cornet Classic has them in the "front" (and the Classic is usually positioned "sideways").  The Classic lacks the mono switch and LED.  The Cornet (2) matches the Clarinet.  The Classic might actually be the more flexible layout depending on what you want to do...
