If you enjoy solo piano, I heartily recommend Paul Cantelon's Point No Point.  I've played this CD extensively over the past week or so, and believe it to be one of the best recordings in my collection, regardless of genre.

Following the imbedded link above will take you to a site where you can listen to samples and/or make a purchase if you like.  The samples aren't good by any definition, but you should be able to hear enough to know whether or not it's for you.

Of particular interest is what I found thumbing through the liner notes.  Turns out it was produced and engineered by our own Russell Dawkins.  :o

Well done, Russell!  :thumb:

Glad you like it, Jim, and thanks for the compliment.

You might be interested in knowing that Paul did the sountrack for the movie   "Everything Is Illuminated" at your local theater now (maybe).

I have recorded three solo piano CDs for Paul over the years. Two are in release. That CD (Point No Point) is a favorite of many of Paul's musician friends - people as diverse as Ricki Lee Jones, Peter Townsend and Lisa Marie Presley, not to speak of some luminaries in the industry  "on the other side of the glass".

Jim, just curious - does the recording sound natural on your Timepieces now that they're breaking in?

Absolutely.  In fact, by the time I made the original post on Monday, things had improved considerably.  I stopped playing speaker torture music for a while in favor of something a bit more relaxing, and Point No Point was one of the CDs I chose.  It was that session that prompted my post.

Based on what I'm hearing, the speakers you're using now aren't too shabby.  You can't make a CD sound this good with crap speakers.

But I think you'll be more than satisfied with what you have coming.
