Frank, a question about an older FetValve

At one time there was an "HC" version of the FetValve, which I assume meant the same thing as for the OmegaStar - a High Current version. Why is there is no equivalent version in the newer series of FetValves? Did the HC actually have a more capable current delivery than either today's EXR or new Ultra?

When we switched output devices on all our amplifiers, they all became essentially "high current' amplifiers because the new devices have much greater current and power capabilities each than the originals did.  All of the Fet Valve amps use six devices per channel.  The "standard" Omegastar amps use four per channel, but have greater capability than using six of the original devices.  We still offer HC versions of the Omegastar amps with six devices per channel for those difficult to drive appliciations.  The new Fet Valve amps always have that capability.

Thanks for the explanation, Frank. Still won't tell us when that review of the FetValve Ultra is going to come out?

Awesome....I don't know that I've ever been so anxious to get an amp into my system!  These Fet Valve hybrids seem like the perfect amp for me....in theory, of course :)

Surprised you haven't auditioned the Harbeth speakers.  They are classics.

Does that include the 240EX, or just the 260EX and 440EX? (The info on the web site seems to indicate that the 240EX and 240/3EX have 2 per channel.)

You are correct, them much lower powered OmegaStar 240EX series uses two power mos-fets per channel.
