Hiya Guys,

To most of you from outside the St Louis area, this album likely won't be familiar to you, but for those of us that grew up listening to KSHE (one of the oldest prog rock stations in the country (1967)), this is the "Ultimate" classic rock album.

I was surfing through eBay looking for classic rock when I typed in 'blackfoot ultimate' and this popped up;

It looks as if Mercury has re-released JD Blackfoots Ulimate Prophacy on 180 gram vinyl. If you've ever done a search on eBay or priced this at Euclid, you know this sells for about $100 used. The re-issue is going for about $15 plus shipping.

I bought mine from the seller wdcdradio. I think? I bought the last one he had.

I'm hoping one thing, a while back I was talking to Sheri down at the Disc Connection when I picked up the CD version of UP. She said that JD had been trying to buy the original master tape from Mercury. He wasn't able to, so he released the CD reissue from a vinyl copy. You can clearly tell the CD is cut from the vinyl. I hope this vinyl reissue isn't mastered from the CD which is mastered from vinyl.

Heres the eBay link in case you want to pick up a copy for yourself.

I bought my first KSHE T-shirt in 1978, if I still had it I don't think it
would fit anymore. :D

Yo Scott, Flashback huh!
Hey I picked up a Blackfoot live double CD at the pawn shop a while back. I can't remember where the show was at, I'll have to take a look at it. Seems to me it was recorded at the Keil but I'm probably wrong.

Mark, I think you're right, that concert was recorded at Keil. I sort of remember KSHE announcing that JD was going to record a live album way back when.

Somewhere around here I've got an old KSHE bumper sticker from the early 70's, the one with teh peace sign on it. That and one of the mini bumper stickers from about the same time. If I looked hard enough I bet I could find an old KADI 96 bumper sticker too.

I still remember cruising Creve Couer Park in my Willies Overland listening to TUP cranked up as far as it would go. .....oh to be 17 again.

How do you guys remember all this stuff? Most of my memories from back then went up in smoke. :mrgreen:

My favorite cruising song from back then (I had the KADI sticker on my 65 VW bug) was Lake Shore Drive by Aliota, Hanes and Jeremiah. See, I can remember some things.  :lol:
