Although I have seen much Consonance or Opera made equipment, this is the first one that actually, really, captures my imagination. If the design is reflective of the sound this beast can produce, then, is it possible that we really have a giant killer here?
http://www.opera-consonance.com/products/calaf.htm
It sports a price of $3200, according to an Audiogon ad. It is obvious that it can be had much more affordably...and it seems to compete head to head with that other integrated, the DK Design MKIII?
I wonder what this integrated really sounds like. I am drooling just by looking at it.

Dear Paul,
Looks very interesting Paul. I see they use JJ E88CC tubes, which beats the early version Amperex Bugleboys! Extremely low distortion if used properly.
Could very well be a giant killer. Any chance you'll get an audition?

I will need to find a dealer somewhere. Not that I have space or anything, but for what it looks like, it seems to be extremely competitive with what is out there...
Now, if I did not have my present stereo set up as it is posted here....

I am looking into ways of simplifying my set up and get down to basics. My FTA speakers are not going anywhere, but I am open to amplification changes, especially in regards to amplification in general...preamp, I got covered...but then the amp in question here is an integrated....
a set up that I think should be the standard of simplicity is what I see here...

Oh well, we can still dream of simple pleasures.
