The positioning of our preamps:

P-8 - excellent value for money top quality preamp for $1095. Any circuit board upgrade will be around 30% of MSRP. Minor upgrade usually cost $50 or less.

P-9 - expanded version of P-8 (XLR in/out, more in/out etc) but with different design and possibly with different volume control technology. World class preamp. It could be between $3000 to $5000.

P-10 - super high end and spare no expense in every details MSRP for $7000 to $10,000. Best preamp in the world (ok, at least top 3 ).

So far the problems that we received for P-8 are all related to volume control which can be updated by reprogramming the volume control face plate.
We made a minor improvement to P-8 in January. Only a few P-8 went out in December 2005 (mostly to dealer) and they can be update easily.

There isn't much we can do to improve P-8.  Try different power cord (do not use small 24 gauge power cord, 12 gague is better).  We received feedback ranging from good (compared to $3K preamp out there) to one of the best preamp on the market.  So the jury is still out whether this is a world class preamp or just a very good one.

Why will the P9 en P10 become so "not NuForce like" expensive? Can't you cut costs and bring out a pre with more inputs but without the extra's that you mention for P9 and P10? In other words bring out an amp at the quality level of P8 but with more inputs?

Of course I don't mean to whine but I have the feeling you'd sell more preamps when you offer a great priced one without the disadvantage of the P8 being that it only has three inputs. I personally would spend between 2000 and 3000 for a good preamp but not 5000.

By the way, can you already give a more accurate estimate on the price and/or specs of the P9 and P10. The possible pricerange (3k - 5k) you mentioned for the P9 for example is quite large.  :)

Another question, do you know if and when the first reviews of the P8 will come out?  :)

P-8 is completely out of stock until end of Feb.  I think one P-8 should be going to Positive Feedback this week.

We'll try to keep P-9 around $3K. $5K is probably fully loaded with phono stage and a set of active cross-over output.  P-9 should share a lot of technology with P-10.

P-10 is our attempt at making the most awesome looking piece of art and to claim the title as the best, period. I say "attempt"
