Does anyone out there own or have any experience with Transcendent Sound OTL kits.
Was wondering how they sound? what they would compare to?

thanks for the help  :)

I built the T16 OTL kit and thought it sounded very nice but my speakers at the time were not really sensitive enough to work well with it. IMO Bruce is a very good designer and his kits are not hard to build but I believe he tends to overstate the output power. The T16 stereo is rated at 15WPC into 8 ohms. Mine would only produce about 8W at the onset of clipping. This was at 1KHz into an 8R resistive load.

It may reach it's rated power playing real music where most peaks are short but it wouldn't do so with a steady state signal.

I've also built one of his Grounded Grid preamps and they are an easy build as well.

Thanks Mike and Bagkyr.

What I am looking for is an amp to power a pair of Fostex fe206e running full range in a open baffle design, the speaker is the BD-Design Quasar MkII the driver in this OB is rated at 97db efficiency @ 8ohms
I figured I could get a SET or OTL kit, I am even considering the Berning
Micro ZOTL? I have not purchased the Quasar yet, as I am looking to see what amp would work out well that is affordable up to $1000 max.

The Quasar is a pretty pricey kit  especially when you fiqure shipping from the Netherlands. Have not completely made up my mind yet on these! Maybe someone has another OB suggestion?

Any help is appreciated!  :D
