I'm really intrigued with Odyssey and how people like their gear. I've read the review about the $1,500 system, but in response to the review Klaus mentions the next system at $2,200. What is in that system and for those who have it, your comments on the sound.

The web site doesn't talk about these "packages."

Thanks and Happy New Year to all.

One of the most difficult, and perhaps the most intriguing, parts of selecting audio gear is the research, and trying to determine how well one brand compares to another.  At some point, you just have to pick some gear and go with it.  I purchased a used Odyssey amp after hearing how good they work with Magnepan speakers, and have not looked back. I may never know how this amp compares to a Bryston, CJ, Krell, etc., but I do love the sound, and I really love the price. I have sinced upgraded the amp to the extreme version,  purchased a Tempest, a pair of Lorelies, and some Groneberg cables. The resulting sound is warm and airy.

John151 - I hear you. I agree with you. I'm just trying to learn what the $2,200 system includes ... as in what components ... so I can make a choice between the $1,500 and $2,200 systems.

HI

It is pretty simple. The difference between the 1500 and the 2200 systems is the speakers. The 1500 has the Epiphany and the 2200 has the Nightingales. Same kind of electronics and cables.
