Cheap subwoofer options?
« on: 5 Dec 2005, 07:34 pm »
I am looking for a cheap sub. When I say cheap, I mean cheap. <$250. No, there is no room for "Well, there is a Hsu for $299. . . .". This is for my gf's Dad who doesn't want to spend much for it. I just passed on some of my old B&W 600 series speakers and he wants to get a sub to go along with them. He was about to get a Yamaha for about $99 but my recollection is that those aren't worth that. I was looking at the Dayton subs on the PartExpress website which look as though they might work and I seem to recall some of the DIY crowd saying that some of the Dayton drivers are good (perhaps not the same drivers as are in the $100 subs though). Any other options in this price range? It isn't one I'm used to looking in so any suggestions would be appreciated.
