Michael, I own 5 LeAmps from the very first bacth shipped (silver faceplate) and am perfectly happy with them. However, if what I've read is true and you intend to blow out a pair of monoblocks that yield 350 W at 4 Ohms for 400 clams + shipping (intro price) I say:

a.) You are insane
b.) Put me down for a pair

I do have 3 suggestions though, since I understand the look hasn't been finalized yet:

a.) Offer an option for a silver faceplate so us original LeAmpers can match the old with the new (wives/girlfriends need matching)
b.) Dim the LED from the get go (use blue if possible)
c.) Do away with the big rocker switch-it makes an otherwise good looking amp look like a DIY project.

For the price and quality I do not care if they come in Ultra Violet Pink or Yellow! :D

This is about the finest deal I have ever heard of for amps!Other places would be asking over $1K I imagine.

The plan is to make the faceplate a titanium color. The idea I have in mind is the same color as a Palm 515, Vx or Titanium.  I think that this looks classy and more subdue than silver. I also think that it matches other equipment very well.

As for the LED, I don't want an LED.  I used to like the idea of blue LEDs but I think that now that they are on everything, that the novelty has worn off.  What I want is a backlit screen--something like what you see on your Cell Phone or PDA.

As for the switch, I think it will look fine once we have the final case.

The heat sinks we are using are custom molded so I hope the overall look will be anything but cheap looking.

At the Ohio Show, we only heard favorable comments about the sound.  Several people touched the heatsinks and agreed the unit was not hot.

We are going to sell the first 200 units at the promotional price. We did this to introduce Le Amp. The idea is to get units out there for people to make comment.  I am sure most people will believe that $195.95 would only cover our costs.  When we introduced Le Amps, we actually lost money.

Speaking of price, you can see some similarly rated SS monoblocs on the Audible Illusions website, under New products.  Their cost?   $5000 +

If the LA II's are even in the same ballfield, that's about the best deal that audio has ever produced.

I think you had referenced them somewhere else also.I forgot about that.

At the very worst for myself I could use them as bass amps in a Vertical amping situation or for the Bass & Mids drivers. This might become the amp steal of the new century which is really a good thing even at $600\pair. 8)
